New yarn, new project

With all this yarn surrounding me, how am I supposed to resist? We just got in Jeannee Chunky from Plymouth and I love the way it feels!

It's soft, easy care (machine wash and dry), I had to make something for my 4 year old.

And I even found the perfect project:
Knitting Pure and Simple Bulky Hooded Vest for Children.
Just perfect for cooler weather: soft, slightly warm and great with jeans!

P.S. Yes, we are in the process of setting up the store, but we need to relax too :)

New location, August hours.

We moved! Yes, it finally happened! Opening August 4th!

We are finally moving!

No...really! It's been a long, long time, but we found a new location in Brooklyn. Small, but comfy together with Sew Materialistic (which will become a quilting boutique). Call us 347.694.5494 for more info or sign up for our newsletter here to be notified of grand opening celebration!

Make your feet ....happy!

Happy Feet is a scrumptious new sock yarn from Plymouth Yarns.
Made from fine superwash merino an 10% nylon for durability,
this yarn comes in fun shades.

Don't stop at making socks! It's great for shawls, scarves and baby knits.

Easy care-machine wash!

I am going to attempt a Baltic Sea Stole from Fiber Trends -great summer knitting project (not good for TV knitting, I am afraid)

My new favorite baby yarn.

I love Cleckheaton Cocoon! I even like the name-make me think of my baby being cuddled!
And, conveniently enough, I have my own "personal" 4.5 month old to knit for! Here is a leafy hat knit from Cocoon (Pattern available free from Knitlist)
Yes, it's "taupe" - not pink, I can't handle any more pink things at the moment!

And I can't wait to start this bolero jacket-it's soooo cute!
Hopefully, I will finish it by March, I'm just going to ingnore 20+ UFOs Yes, seriously)
already on the needles.
The picot edge makes it look so elegant...
Now, I just have to pick a color.
